Duiven is a small town with notable parks, some shops and restaurants; between Duiven and Arnhem is a large commercial area with a huge garden center, a new Ikea and other major markets and also Mc.Donalds can be found.
Located just a few kilometers away, Arnhem, there is a lot to discover in addition to much contemporary history from the Second World War also a pretty town with lots of nice shops and Dutch cafes - You should not miss that. Arnhem has a very interesting "Burgers Zoo", the very extensive Dutch Open Air Museum, between Arnhem and Appeldorn is the world famous Apenheul with free-ranging monkeys to touch and near Nijmegen the Bible Museum Holy Land Stichting.
For the more history interested visitors you can visit some very interesting World War II Museums. In Overloon the WW-II open-air museum with many vehicles and other large equipment. The Airborne Museum Hartenstein in Osterbeek, the Wings of Liberation Museum Park in Best and the Arnhem War Museum (Kemperbergerweg 780). HOW TO GET THERE:
from Germany follow A3 towards Arnhem and cross the German/Dutch border at Emmerich/Elten.
Keep following A3 (now called A12) and get out at EXIT 28 - DUIVEN. Keep right and take the bridge crossing the motorway.
second lights (T-Crossing) turn right and 50m right to the Hotel. Free parking at the Hotel outside and at the Hotel Garage
DUIVEN is less than 10km from historical Arnhem where you can explore WWII history as well as a variety of shops, cafe's, pubs etc.
